OBJECTIVES OF THE CENTRE

 

  • Promotion of Short Sea Shipping by providing information continuously in order to find the best multimodal way for offer and demand,

  • Pointing out the advantages that Short Sea Shipping can offer on Trans European and on Pan-European level,

  • Raising the public awareness of the necessity of Short Sea Shipping by  participating in national and international events and research,     

  • Encouraging cooperation between service offerers involved in different means of transport,Encouraging the integration processes within the logistic chain of intermodal transport,

  • Analysis of problems related to Short Sea Shipping in order to improve its competitiveness as compared to other ways of transport,

  • Cooperation with all the Shortsea Promotion Centres in Europe and enabling the members to present their development projects and other projects to the EU institutions which can co finance the costs according to the rules and achieved objectives.
